This very spacious and luxurious room is located on the first floor above the ambalama. It has expansive views of the surrounding tropical, palm-filled landscape and some glimpses of the sea between the trees, from generous verandah balconies that encircle the pavilion. Its elevated location also allows it to capture the prevailing sea breezes.

The suite is very large with an integrated bedroom and sitting area. It has high ceilings with deep detailed arched timber beams and tall shuttered bi-fold doors and windows folding open onto the verandah. Its semi-circular fanlight and clerestory windows ensure a high level of filtered light prevails within the room complementing its character and style.

The suite is furnished in a colonial hunting lodge theme, with hand carved timber screens & bedside tables, a built-in writing desk, antiques and original art, a large wardrobe, super king-size hand carved, Indian, four-poster bed with turned posts and mosquito net, a three piece comfortable lounge, ample lamps and a coffee table. It also has a safe, air conditioner, Wi-Fi, cable television.

Additionally, there is a small kitchenette with tea and coffee making facilities, a microwave oven, small fridge and kitchenware. The large luxurious bathroom has a separate toilet, large walk-in shower and a free-standing, two-person bath. The fittings are contemporary, high quality polished stainless steel and a mix of natural materials including quartzite stone cladding on the walls and hand hammered granite stone paved floors.

  • Rates are valid until 30th November 2026 and are subject to change thereafter.
  • All rates are quoted in US Dollars and include:
    • Basic room rate
    • Breakfast
    • 10% service charge
  • Additional meal plans:
    • Half board: +$25 per person
    • Full board: +$40 per person
  • All rooms are non-smoking.

Family & Child Policy

  • Families with children are welcome.
  • Maximum of 2 young children allowed per group booking. Exceptions apply for full property rentals to ensure a peaceful environment for all guests.
  • Children under 10 years stay free with breakfast included.
  • Baby cot available free of charge.
  • Extra guest charges:
    • Children aged 11–17: $40 (includes breakfast)
    • Adults aged 18 and above: $60 (includes breakfast)

Room Occupancy

  • Maximum 2 guests in:
    • Poolside Pavilion
    • Grand Suite
    • Cave Room
  • Maximum 7 guests in the Bungalow.
  • An extra single bed can be arranged upon request (advance notice required).

Airport Transfers

  • Transport from Bandaranaike International Airport to Sergeant House: $100 per van/car (each way).

Check-in & Check-out

  • Check-in: From 14:00 hrs
  • Check-out: By 12:00 (midday)
  • Late check-out may be arranged at management’s discretion.

Accessibility Notice

  • Sergeant House has three upstairs rooms and a staircase at the main entrance.
  • The property is not fully accessible for guests with mobility impairments.

Safety Disclaimer

  • Guests are responsible for their own safety while on the premises.
  • This includes the use of the swimming pool and supervision of children around the lily pond.

Booking & Payment

  • A 50% deposit of the total booking amount is required to confirm your reservation.
  • The balance is payable at check-out.
  • We accept Visa and MasterCard.

Cancellation Policy

  • 30+ days before arrival: No charge
  • 15–29 days before arrival: 50% of total booking will be charged
  • 1–14 days before arrival: 100% of total booking will be charged
  • No-shows or early departures: 100% charge for full reserved period
